To tell you about myself I need to tell you about the people and things that make me who I am.

I am a very lucky lady indeed.

I haven’t always been.  I can say with confidence that I have had more soap-opera style dramas, more broken promises, broken hearts and more bad luck than most!   Life has dealt me some interesting hands that’s for sure and I’m not too proud to admit that I haven’t always dealt with them with the grace I’d like to believe I now possess!

But honestly I wouldn’t change a thing.

All of the tears, the struggles and the darkest of days have brought me to where I am now and made me who I am now……and I lead a charmed life!

I have just moved to Buckshaw Village in Lancashire with my wonderful family whom I love more every day.  Truly I am so blessed to have my two best friends as my daughter and husband.  Phill and I work from home and are so busy (and absentminded) that our friends have to book a calendar appointment if they want to see us (for then it is written)!  We even book appointments with each other at busy times! Mad? Yes a little but when your husband owns his own businesses and you work for them; sometimes you have to do mad things to ensure that family time is made the priority that it deserves to be.  We don’t always succeed, but we certainly try.

I think for both Phill and I, one of our greatest joys is seeing the young lady that Bethany is growing up to be.  She is the most mature, articulate and cheeky nine year old I have ever had the pleasure to meet and it makes me so proud to think that she is mine!  She helps us avoid becoming stuffy, middle class grown-ups and keeps us laughing at ‘The Simpsons’ and swinging from monkey bars – is there a greater gift?

These days she’s even blogging!  Have a look at our girls blog on our wedding website : Chief Bridesmaid’s Blog

Phill and I became Mr and Mrs on Friday 13th April 2012!  It was beautiful.  I’m so glad we found each other.  Phill came into my little World when my really bad times were making their last stand before (hopefully) being booted out of my life for good.  He has helped me overcome many demons and has certainly instigated my transformation back into the real me.  Phill loves me and all the things about my personality that others might find irritating, old fashioned or OTT, he just finds endearing.  He’s definitely the one.  But more about him indoors later 😛  Feel free to have a nosy at our Wedding plans on our Wedding website:

We used to live here.  Yes it is as big as it looks which means that I actually had a craft room!!  But sometimes your dream home doesn’t allow for your dream life and we really weren’t happy here.  The house was so big that it never felt like home… so we moved…just weeks before our wedding!!  We now live in a ‘fixer upper’ town house which, once inside, feels like a cottage in the sky!   It isn’t finished yet but we are loving the process.  One of the ways in which I’ve become the real me again is that my creative side has been able to flourish with the support of my two best people and more often than not, with them trying their hand at a few things too…more about that another time.

If it involves creating something beautiful that wasn’t there before then I love it.  Painting, sewing, jewellery making, cooking, baking, gardening…erm knitting (almost-I’m not very good) – I love it all!!  I also love to read – totally rock and roll!

Don’t think for a second though that I spend all my time in a rocking chair by the fire; potentially I was born in the wrong era but never the less, I love a good party!  In fact, far from being prim and proper, I’m a bit of a gig-junkie.  Concerts in heels??  Not for me!  Give me big ol’ boots and the pit at the front of the crowds.  Gigs are not the place for being dainty ;-P

It has to be said though that the majority of the time, I do like to dress and certainly try to act, like a lady.  I love vintage glamour and if I can’t buy it, I’ll happily try my hand at making it.

Thank you for reading my ramblings about me.  If you are like me (or even if you’re not), then I hope you’ll come back and read abut some of my adventures.

I also hope you will leave me a comment to let me know you stopped by….

Much love
