I’m so proud of my Husband Phill. He and a group of his friends have decided to raise some money for the Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital by climbing the three highest mountains in Scotland, Wales and England in just 24 hours. Richard, Steve, Stephen, Adam, Ray, Gary and of course my Phill, will climb Ben Nevis, Snowdon and Scafell Pike on the 12th July this year and hope to raise several hundred pounds for a great cause.
When they were born, Phill and his twin brother Reece were looked after by the amazing doctors and nurses at Great Ormond Street. Sadly Reece was born with cerebral palsy and will always have additional needs, but thanks to GOSH he is here and so is Phill and so are a great many other children who might not be otherwise.
I know that the fact that his twin cannot do many of the things that most of us take for granted, means Phill often feels alot of pressure to live his life to the fullest. Reece will be so proud to hear about Phill’s adventures.
Climbing three mountains in one day is no small feat and will require a huge amount of preparation and training. Knowing that he is raising money for the people who looked after he and Reece is really helping to motivate Phill, but it isn’t easy. Phill has been climbing mountains (small and HUGE) whenever he has a free afternoon! His shoes are disgusting, his feet are starting to resemble hooves and he’s begun talking only in terms of distance, time and feet above sea level!! But it will all be worth it in the end 🙂
So seven crazy guys are going to climb three mountains, in three countries, walking over 40 miles and all for charity.
If you would like to sponsor Phill and his friends, they have decided to raise money as one group. All donations are helpful and so very much appreciated. You can donate by clicking here
Good luck gang!!!
PS. Here’s some pictures of Scafell Pike from this weekend.
Go on…you know you want to sponsor them! 🙂
