The Incredible Intergalactic Journey Home – Review and Competition
I’m a bit of a hater when it comes to personalised children’s gifts. When choosing each of my daughter’s names, the fact that we were unlikely to find gift shop bookmarks and keyrings with their names on, was actually one of the selling points! I know some people love things like that – but they’re just not for me. So you’ll understand when I tell you, that I when I first heard about ‘Lost My Name’, the company that makes personalised children’s books, I didn’t pay them much attention.
If you’re anything like me, then you probably haven’t either…and you’re missing out!
This right here is one of those moments that I want to hold on to and remember forever and ever – my grown up girl reading stories to my baby girl. Instead of stories about princesses and castles, this is a tale about adventure, bravery and friendship and it features not only a little girl called Dorothy but her home town and even her house!
Personalisation is easy – you go to the website and type up your message…
For me, the best thing about the ordering process is that you actually get to see the whole book, cover to cover before you commit to buying. You can read the story and see how your child’s name and address fit in.
The story is so sweet, after bedtime, Dorothy goes on a secret journey with a robot. They travel around space having all sorts of adventures until their sat-nav breaks down and they get lost. They stick together and thanks to some clever thinking, they find their way back to Earth, albeit the wrong continent! Eventually, they make their way to Dorothy’s hometown and right back to her own front door, before anyone realises she’s gone.
We love this book very much, even Phill thinks it’s beautiful and he’s a bloke! Beth was excited to see the bird’s eye view of our area and spotted her school and her friend’s houses too. Right now Dorothy just likes having any hook read to her, but I’m sure that in the next couple of years she’ll really come to appreciate the personalisation.
If you know a little one who would enjoy a trip into outer space, why not enter my competition to win your very own personalised copy of ‘The Incredible Intergalactic Journey’.
