Be a social butterfly...

A few years ago I dated a younger man :-O  We were a million miles away from being right for each other, but when it was over we remained friends……I also stole his best friend Ian.  Ian is so similar to me that we are convinced that at some point in history, we are related!  Ian was like a brother to me when he met his girlfriend Jess and although I was welcoming, I planned to put this pretty blonde through a thorough assessment!

It was difficult to find fault!  She was pretty, friendly, funny and clearly quite besotted with my ‘brother from another mother’.  I hadn’t even begun my inquisition when I decided she was perfect for him!  Now years later, I am happy to say that I’ve stolen her too 🙂

Jessica bakes the most beautiful cakes but she does not sew.  When she said she was going to make bunting, I knew it was a big undertaking for her and that she would (quite unnecessarily) pile pressure on herself.  Thankfully, Jess has an identical twin sister and when time was running out for her almost complete bunting, Sophie stepped in to help.

Jess’ bunting is quite different from the others as all the pennants are the same and it almost looks Tudor.  The triangles look almost padded and feature a sort of cross hatched pattern, like that of a leaded window.  Funnily enough, like that of the windows at Samlesbury Hall!!

When she saw it, my Maid-of Honour Maggie said the bunting reminded her of Maid Marion.  I think she’s hit the nail on the head with that description and I love it.  I also love that Jess delivered it with a fresh tan and nails and a great big smile, full of excitement for our wedding the next day!!

Thank you Jessica (and Sophie too!)

Love Rachel
