Vintage Folly

The adventures of a slightly mad, creative lady who was probably born in the wrong era.

The Eye Of The Beholder My Painting

The Eye Of The Beholder

This is a painting of Phill’s eye.  I painted it from photograph in acrylic on canvas.

The photograph

I think Phill has the most beautiful eyes.  They are so many different colours, at different times; in different lights, I have tried to capture them all in one image.

Phill comes across as such a strong, confident man and he is, but when I look into his eyes I see something so much softer, almost vulnerable, I hope I have done it justice.

The title comes from the saying, ‘beauty is in the eye of the beholder’.  With my use of the phrase, I turn the sentiment on it’s head.  These eyes look at me, behold me but I see the beauty in the eyes.

This painting has been exhibited in the Harris Gallery, Preston.
