During our European Road Trip we stayed in three different hotel rooms: a simple chalet room, a suite in Novotel, Geneva and a room in a hotel that has surely not been redecorated since the 70s!
So many hotels offer cookie cuter rooms, cream walls and generic, ‘unoffensive’ soft furnishings. This hotel offered quite a unique experience and the staff seemed completely oblivious to it. My sincere hope is that it remains as it is, in all its carpetted wall, olive green bathroomed, wicker lamp shaded glory!
Every modern convenience ;-P
If you like the tiles….how about the carpeted walls in the bedroom…
or the wooden panels?
The retro goodness was everywhere..
even in the corridors where guests were invited to borrow a pair of hand made slippers!
After a good night’s sleep, we woke up to this.
Not bad at all 🙂
The hotel which was found by my clever husband, is called Hotel Bivouac Napolean and is right in the middle of the Swiss Alps….worth a road trip 🙂
Ps. This post is dedicated to my sister Jenny, who had to listen to the three of us shrieking about furry walls and brown taps for ages until we calmed down and promised to take lots f pictures for her. Love you Jen, Happy Birthday!
