How to Make Wedding (Party) Survival Kits
It’s not easy being a member of ‘the wedding party’. At my recent nuptials, my nearest and dearest were feeling more stressed out than I was!!! I had my lovely Maggie as my Maid of Honour who is even more of a control freak than I am and 3 little bridesmaids including a toddler who would have to sit through the Wedding ceremony.
Then there was Phill and the questions the day before the wedding: ‘sweetheart, do we have any shoe polish?’ ‘Rachel where are the painkillers?’ ‘Out of curiosity, what do we do if our trousers don’t fit??’
The solution? Survival Kits!
I made a mental note of everything I thought people might need over the course of our big day and made them a little bag. This worked really well on the day and for Phill the survival kit came into its own on the morning when everything he and the other menfolk didn’t think to bring to their hotel…was right there in his kit. Apart from his toothbrush, I made the mistake of thinking he’d remember that!!
Although I made these for our wedding, they would work well for lots of occasions. Here’s what I included.
Groom’s Survival Kit:
Shoe polish and brushes
Sweets (he loved me for it!)
Small pot of moisturiser
Clear nail polish (for ladders in stockings)
Extra Strong Mints (their request…I don’t understand it either!)
Bottle of water
