I Heart My Canterbury Sheepskin Boots
Question: What does a vintage lover wear in the Wintertime?
Answer: Whatever the hell she likes, it’s freezing!
It’s not easy to create an authentic looking vintage or vintage inspired outfit in nasty weather and to be honest, I don’t worry about it too much. I just wear what I like and mix up eras and styles. So you might see me in a long 70s style crochet cardi, with vintage 1950s earrings and 30s style lace up boots. Somehow if you just go for it, it all works (well I think so anyway).
The biggest issue I have is finding decent footwear. Good quality, stylish footwear that is practical and pulls an outfit together isn’t easy to find.
Recently I was asked to review some boots from New Zealand brand Canterbury Leather. These are called Supertread Tall. They took just over a week to arrive and have been a godsend!
Canterbury Leather used to be involved in the production of UGG boots and of course you can see the similarities with this style, but take a look at their website to see their fantastic range. Having experienced both brands, these are better for me. The sole is thicker for a start. It’s grippy and slightly raised which means that your feet are an inch or so above the mud and rain and you can stay upright when the dog decides she wants to dart off in pursuit of s squirrel!
The boots are lined with sheepskin so you can imagine how toasty they are and the removable sheepskin insole can be washed to keep it feeling fluffy. My friend tried on these boots and said “it’s like putting my toes in a cloud!” Haha! Quite!
Having only had these boots in my possession for a couple of weeks, I have worn them so many times. They are comfortable for long walks and train travel and we all know I do alot of that! I’ve even worn them for a stint on a popular TV show….but that’s another post 🙂 They look great over jeans and leggings and even with some skirts and dresses. I’m wearing them today with a pair of F&F skinny jeans, an argyle cardigan and a 1940s silk scarf.
So do you fancy owning a pair of these beauties? I bet you do!
You can have a chance of winning a pair of short super-tread boots worth £130 simply by commenting below and telling me which of Canterbury Leather’s boots you like best. Here’s the website. For an extra chance (i.e. your name will go into the pot twice) simply share the post on Facebook or Twitter.
The winner will be announced on the 17th November.
Best of luck lovelies.
