I think this is probably every teenager’s favourite flavour combination – mine too ?

It was Phill’s idea to add cocoa powder to the batter to make it chocolatey but because there isn’t any sugar in the mixture, you need the sweetness of actual chocolate to balance things out.

Double chocolate banana pancakes

*To make four pancakes*

You will need

125g plain flour

teaspoon cocoa (more if you like)

2 eggs

200ml semi skimmed milk

a small handful of milk chocolate chips or a spoonful of chocolate spread per pancake

1/2 banana per pancake

Sift flour and cocoa powder into a bowl.

Add the eggs and milk and beat until very smooth.

Ladle into a frying pan or crepe maker and cook for around 90 seconds.

Carefully turn the pancake and either sprinkle the cooked side with chocolate chips or a little chocolate spread.

Slice the banana and place on top of the pancake.

The chocolate and banana should have softened by the time the underneath is cooked.

Fold the pancake and eat while the chocolate’s still gooey ?
